Since the beginning of 2024, over 100,000 Chinese tourists have visited the Far East, taking advantage of the visa-free regime. This information was announced by Russian representatives at the "Word of the Russian Heart" form, which was held in Beijing from June 12 to 15.
It was noted that the regions of the Far East back in 2023 showed the largest increase in tourist traffic compared to other Russian regions. This was primarily due to Chinese tourists.
Today, 10% of the infrastructure projects being implemented in the Far East relate to the tourism industry. A total of 200 billion rubles have been invested in them, and in the future they will be able to provide jobs for almost 14,000 local residents.
