India opens borders for Russian tourists

Indian authorities have reopened the border for tourists, including Russians. Foreigners will be able to visit India after the closure of borders in March last year. However, for now, access is open only for passengers of charter flights.

According to the country's Interior Ministry, India will start issuing visas for charter flights travelers on October 15,and for regular flights passengers - on November 15.

Tourists will be issued visas for 30 days. Entry can be by air or sea.

India plans to resume full flight connections with other countries as many tourists cannot afford charter flights.

Recall that India has the second highest number of newly detected cases of coronavirus.
