The best time to buy tickets in 2022 was found out by experts during a study of data from American companies Expedia and Airlines Reporting Corporation.
According to experts, the price of airline tickets may depend on how far in advance the flight is planned, as well as on what day of the week the departure is booked.
For example, in 2021, approximately 25% of cheap airline tickets were purchased nine weeks before departure.
Experts believe that the same trend may continue in 2022. Passengers are advised to start booking a flight more than three months before the upcoming trip. The cheapest way to buy a plane ticket is on Friday - on that day you can save 10% to 20% of the original cost of the tickets. Meanwhile, the worst days to buy tickets are Tuesday and Wednesday.
The most expensive tickets will be bought on holidays. For example, at Christmas, New Year's Eve, and before New Year's Eve, prices skyrocket by several times.
