According to authorities, the city is approaching its tourist limit.
Boris Piotrovsky, vice-governor of the city, said that at least 10 million people will visit St. Petersburg by the end of the year. According to the official, Smolny expects exactly such figures. The city authorities expect a 10% growth compared to last year, for which the city was visited by 9.4 million people.
Piotrovsky noted that these figures return to the period before the pandemic. But the city has its own limit of tourist load, beyond which it will already affect the work of urban systems. In his opinion, this limit is about 12 million people.
It is noted that in 2023 tourists brought the city treasury 482.7 billion rubles, which exceeds the figures of 2022 by 32%. And almost 90% of tourists are guests from other regions of Russia, not foreigners.
Recently it became known that a new excursion route will appear in Kronstadt. For tourists will adapt the Petrovsky dock.
Earlier it was reported that a large aqua resort is going to be built in New Moscow.
