In August 2022, international tourists spent in Spain more than € 11 billion.
Experts from the National Institute of Statistics of Spain (INE) estimated that in the last month of summer travelers have left in Spain € 11.26 billion. This is 90.6% more than the same period last year.
However, if you believe the statistics, there is nothing surprising. In August the country was visited by 8.8 million international tourists. This is 60.9% more than in August last year, when 5.2 million travelers visited Spain.
It is noteworthy that almost a quarter of the foreigners who came to the country (24.8%) sought to visit the Balearic Islands.
