As SHOT reports, earlier a significant increase in prices was expected this year due to the low ruble exchange rate, which should have made the cost of tours to Egyptian resorts at least 1.5 times higher. However, due to a number of factors, such an increase did not happen.

Sources indicate that tourists are in no hurry to go to Egypt because of the conflict between Palestine and Israel. Agencies also notice a mass refusal of travelers from previously purchased tours. Another factor is shark attacks on vacationers. There have been recent incidents such as the death of a Russian tourist in Hurghada from a shark attack and an attack on a local in Dahab where a shark bit off her arm.

Due to the fears of potential tourists, Egyptian hotels are offering significant discounts on accommodation, including holiday dates. For example, a seven-day New Year's tour to a four-star hotel will cost 180 thousand rubles for two people. At the same time last year for a similar tour required the sum of 150 thousand rubles. It is expected that by December the cost of tours may rise by another 10%.

Recall that earlier a Russian woman was frightened by chaotic traffic on the streets and poverty in Egypt.
