Mass flight cancelations and postponements at Russian airports were observed on May 6 and 7. The Association of Tour Operators of Russia told whether tourists who faced delays could count on tour extensions.
Tourists who were due to go on vacation on 6 and 7 May have encountered unexpected difficulties. Russian airports canceled or postponed flights en masse.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia told whether tourists, who faced delays, can count on the extension of tours.
According to Nadezhda Efremova, head of legal service of ATOR, they should not hope for tour extension at the expense of tour operators. In conversation with RBC she explained that according to the Russian Air Code, the tour operator is obliged to compensate for flight delays, if they occurred through its fault.
In this case, the delays were due to external factors beyond the tour operators' control.
At the same time, in case of refusal to cancel the trip, the travel agency will return the funds to the tourist with the deduction of actually incurred expenses.
The day before the departure of Moscow flights was postponed to a later time. A similar situation is observed in ten cities of the country.
