The absence of Russian citizens strongly hit the tourism business of EU countries.
Experts noted that Russians in Europe have always been loved for their unpretentiousness and generosity. This year, the authorities of European states have made it impossible for Russians to come to the region on a mass scale with the help of sanctions.
As noted by British analysts, the total losses of the European tourism industry this year amounted to about 20 billion euros.
Hoteliers in Spain, France, Italy and Croatia will incur the biggest financial losses. Tourist traffic of Russians in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkans is far from last year's indicators.
According to experts, due to sanctions Turkey and Egypt are actively earning on Russian travelers this year.
