Such a statement was made at the Eastern Economic Forum. Although China remains the leader in the number of tourists, the tourist flow from Saudi Arabia has increased many times over the year.
During the Eastern Economic Forum, Ilya Umansky, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUT), said that while previously wealthy pensioners from Europe were more likely to come to Russia, now young families with children from Asian countries form the basis of the tourist flow. Such a shift occurred against the background of the general replacement of the European market by the Asian one.
Vacationers from China still visit Russia most of all, but tourists from the UAE look very promising. The tourist flow from this country has quadrupled in just one year. Iran showed an increase of 50%, the number of tourists from India has doubled, and the number of visitors from Saudi Arabia has become 20 times more.
Earlier it was reported that on September 4, the first 27 tourists from Iran arrived in Dagestan, who did not need a visa.
It turned out that Russians themselves began to take their children with them on trips around Russia much more often.
