Tours to Turkey became twice as expensive compared to the same period of 2021. This was due to rising airfares and the weakening of the lira exchange rate against the dollar.
According to Izvestia, the price of the tour for seven days for two has increased from 115 to 172 thousand rubles.
The press service of tour operator Tez Tour noted that prices this year for the Turkish destination have increased by 40% compared with the summer of 2021. Now there is a high load in Turkish hotels, most of the reservations are actively filled by locals.
Chairman of the board of directors of the Vipservice holding Dmitry Gorin pointed out that the average weekly check in a 5-star hotel per person went up from 70 to 100-150 thousand rubles. Prices for air travel, the share of which in the price of the tour package is about 50-70%, have doubled, as the flight time has increased from three to five hours.
There is not enough capacity in Russia to meet demand for flights to Turkey, President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry Sergey Shpilko said.
Intourist added that the company sold out all the seats for flights from the capital of Russia until July 5 inclusive, this year it will not be possible to fly cheaper on a last-minute tour.
