Maldives changed entry rules for foreign tourists

Maldives opened borders for foreign tourists in mid-July. A number of new rules have been introduced for those entering since September 10.

According to the decision of the authorities of the Republic of Maldives, since September 10, all tourists arriving in the island state are required to provide a certificate of a negative test for a new type of coronavirus infection, the Association of Tour Operators reports. You need to get a negative result no later than four days before arriving at the resort.

The corresponding changes were made on August 31. Moreover, tourists can still travel to different islands, but only one of the hotels that have passed official certification is allowed to permanently reside. Hoteliers, in turn, will approve the reception of tourists to the Ministry of Tourism, sending a corresponding request in advance.
