Russians were told about the mistakes they make in Cuba

Many Russian tourists coming to Cuba, often make mistakes that can ruin the whole vacation.

Here are seven of them:

1. Naively trusting tour operators who had no experience on the island and taking at face value their information based only on internet research.
2. Buying expensive and uninteresting excursions from tour operators instead of a more flexible and interesting option such as renting a car with a driver or asking local guides.
3. Lack of cash. Don't rely solely on bank cards, as this can lead to problems paying for services or having to give "handouts" to get service.
4. Limiting yourself to the hotel and neglecting the opportunity to discover the real Cuba outside of it.
5. Over-reliance on locals who may take advantage of tourists' ignorance to inflate prices or offer services that they are not able or do not intend to provide.
6. Expectation that it is possible to purchase all necessary items locally without considering the limited availability of many goods, including medicines and necessities.
7. Underestimating the peculiarities of the island's climate and weather, which may lead to inconvenience or discomfort during the stay.

With these factors in mind, it is recommended that you plan your trip to Cuba carefully and be prepared for various situations to maximize your enjoyment of your vacation on this Caribbean island.

Earlier, violations for which tourists can be fined or even jailed were named. The Cuban authorities will also oblige all establishments to accept the Russian MIR card. Cuba also wants to become more popular with Russian tourists.
