The Twitter account of the injured Brazilian and PSG striker was hacked Tuesday and used to send inappropriate messages, the player's Brazilian press attaché told AFP.
"He was hacked! Twitter is solving this problem. I don't have any additional information at this time," said the spokesman for the 31-year-old player, who is now resting after surgery on his right ankle.
Several messages sent by hackers have been deleted from the account. However, AFP managed to see one message that did not disappear, referring to a Brazilian media outlet in offensive terms.
Neymar's sister Rafaella's Twitter account was also hacked. She published a video on Instagram to explain that the messages on her account did not come from her.
