President of the Paraguayan football club Olympia Marco Trovato received a life ban for organizing contractual matches.
Such a decision was made by the FIFA disciplinary committee. The punishment was imposed on the basis of the functionary's suspicion of manipulation with the results of matches and the refusal to cooperate with the investigation.
Trovato was also forced to pay a fine of 100 thousand Swiss francs. A series of games of the Paraguayan club from 2018 to 2019 fell under suspicion. The functionary can challenge the decision of organization within 10 days.
