Five members of the Russian biathlon team did not fly to Beijing

The Russian Biathlon Union announced that five members of the Russian team did not fly to Beijing. The Chinese capital will soon host the Winter Olympics.

Aleksandr Pechersky, head of the SIS service group, has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Dmitry Blinov will fly to Beijing instead.

The head coach of the women's team Mikhail Shashilov, as well as biathletes Irina Kazakevich and Valeria Vasnetsova could not fly to the Olympics at the moment. In addition, the masseur Roman Nikitin could not fly to Beijing.

Their flight was postponed for a day because of the need to provide documents that all of them had contracted coronavirus.
