Russian mixed martial arts fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated American Justin Gaethje. The fight was held in the UAE as part of the UFC 254 tournament.
In the second round, the Russian applied a chokehold on his opponent. Thus, the 32-year-old Nurmagomedov defended the UFC lightweight title.
In addition, the Russian was left with the status of an invincible fighter - he won 29 victories in 29 fights.
After the victory, Khabib Nurmagomedov said that he was completing his career in the UFC. He noted that he dedicated the victory to his father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who died from the consequences of coronavirus this summer. Habib wished his compatriots to be with their parents as often as possible.
