The budget of the Petersburg «Zenit» for the upcoming season may reach a record level of 20 billion rubles. About this with reference to its sources reports «RBC Sport».
This is the largest budget among all professional sports clubs in Russia. The club’s press service confirmed that the financial plan for the season is roughly in line with this figure. It is noted that the largest share of revenue, around 60%, comes from commercial contracts, including agreements with key sponsors. Club also plans to increase the income from the games to 2 billion rubles, returning to the dockside indicators.
There is still no separate transfer budget for «Zenita», decisions on the purchase of players are made according to the situation in the market. Most of the capital investment will be devoted to youth football. In particular, we are talking about the construction of a new sports complex and school on the territory of «Gazprom» academy.
