FIFA announced the possibility for foreign players in Russian clubs to suspend their contracts.
According to the FIFA press service, foreign coaches and soccer players acting in Russia have until June 30, 2023 to suspend their contracts.
The same decision was issued for coaches and players working for Ukrainian soccer clubs.
Up to June 30, 2023, soccer clubs in Russia and Ukraine can reach a mutual agreement with their foreign coaches or players in writing. Otherwise, foreign specialists have the right to suspend their contract.
"These provisions give players and coaches the opportunity to train, play and get paid, while protecting Ukrainian clubs and making it easier for foreign players and coaches to leave Russia," the organization said in a statement.
