Ex-player of the Russian national team Andrei Arshavin received a new position. The 2008 UEFA Cup winner has been appointed deputy general manager of his former club.
“Andrey Arshavin has been appointed to the post of Deputy General Director for Sports Development of Zenit. Its functionality will remain the same - youth and youth football," said Alexander Medvedev, general director of Zenit.
In his new position, Andrey Arshavin will also continue to interact with other divisions of the club. In addition, the ex-footballer has been the director of the youth football development department since August 2020.
As part of Zenit, Andrei Arshavin played from 1999 to 2008, and also from 2012 to 2015. Together with the team, the striker won three Russian championships, the Russian Super Cup, as well as the UEFA Cup and Super Cup.
