Russian and Belarusian fencers, who were previously suspended, were allowed to take part in international competitions.
According to the information published on the portal Inside the Games, athletes from the Russian Federation and Belarus were allowed by the International Fencing Federation to participate in individual tournaments.
It is known that last February the IOC leadership issued recommendations to prohibit international sports organizations and federations to perform Russian and Belarusian athletes in competitions under their auspices.
The International Fencing Federation also followed the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee and prolonged the suspension of the athletes until March of this year.
It is noted that the IOC will now decide whether fencers will perform under the flags of their countries.
