Journalist Ali Al-Harbi has learned that the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is going to invite the Saudi soccer club Al-Nasr, where Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo plays, to take part in the Champions League next season.

The journalist notes that the reason for the invitation was the popularity of the club in Europe.

"UEFA intends to extend an invitation to the Saudi club Al-Nasr to participate in the Champions League 2024, because it is one of the three most famous clubs in soccer and because Al-Nasr has great popularity in Europe," writes Ali Al-Harbi in his social network account X.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing at Al Nasr FC since December 2022. In the summer he stated that he would not return to European soccer.

In August this year it became known that the Saudi Arabian Football Federation planned to apply to UEFA with a request to receive a special invitation for the participation of the team that won the national championship in the Champions League in the season 2024/25.
