Although Washington suffered a 2-3 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Ovechkin still scored a goal. The last time the Russian forward achieved a five-game goal-scoring streak was nearly three years ago, from 11 to 19 March 2021.

Ovechkin's personal record in the NHL is seven consecutive games with scored pucks in the 2005/06 season. This season, the hockey player played 48 games in the regular season, in which he scored 13 pucks and made 23 assists.

Ovechkin continues to chase the record of sniper Wayne Gretzky. The Russian forward has 835 pucks, while the legendary Canadian has scored 894 pucks in his NHL career. Ovechkin is currently 59 goals behind him.

Ovechkin's contract with the Washington Capitals expires in 2026 for a total of $47.5 million ($9.5 million per season).

Earlier, the hockey player's wife Anastasia Ovechkin showed off her figure by wearing a pink mini-dress.
