Athletes from Russia and Belarus are allowed to participate in tournaments under the auspices of the International Boxing Association.
The press service of the Russian Boxing Federation reported that the IBA decided to lift the ban on the participation of boxers from Russia and Belarus in the competitions under its aegis. It is reported that this decision of the International Boxing Association comes into force immediately.
"The IBA firmly believes that politics should have no influence on sports. Consequently, all athletes should be given a level playing field," the association said in a statement.
It is also emphasized that the organization remains politically neutral. In addition, the IBA intends to ensure equal treatment of all athletes.
The decision concerns not only athletes, but also technical officials and Russian and Belarusian referees.
