The IHF Ethics Commission issued a warning to the head of the Norwegian Handball Federation, Kare Geirom Lio, who called for the exclusion of Russia from the International Handball Federation.
According to information published on the official website of the IHF, Kare Geir Lio, head of the FGN, received a warning from the Ethics Commission for calling for the expulsion of the Russian team of the International Handball Federation.
“The code of ethics is to ensure that all members of the IHF observe and support ethical behavior in our sport. However, the president of the Norwegian Handball Federation violated this rule, ”the organization’s website says.
It is noted that the behavior of the head of the Norwegian Handball Federation, Kare Geirom Lio, does not comply with the IHF code of ethics, since his actions may have a negative impact on the reputation of the organization.
The Norwegian functionary has previously repeatedly called for the exclusion of Russia and Belarus from the IHF, as well as the termination of contracts with Russian and Belarusian athletes.
