Under IOC conditions, Russian athletes must compete in neutral status and their results will not be counted in the medal table of the Olympic Games.
The head of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, spoke in support of athletes for whom the conditions created by the International Olympic Committee are unacceptable.
According to him, the ROC is on the side of athletes who consciously chose a position different from the one actively imposed by IOC functionaries.
"The ROC is on the side of our athletes who consciously choose a different side of the "barricades" and dividing lines persistently erected by Lausanne since February 2022. For whom the IOC conditions are unacceptable neither in essence nor in form," Pozdnyakov said.
Irina Viner, head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, suggested forming a coaching council to decide on the non-participation of Russian athletes in the Paris Olympics.
According to the IOC conditions, Russians can participate in competitions only in neutral status without flag and anthem, and their results will not be taken into account in the medal table of the Olympic Games.
Earlier Pozdnyakov called tennis players from Russia at the Paris Olympics "a team of foreign agents".
