According to the State Association of Scientific and Applied Research of Australia, the researchers were studying the biodiversity of marine parks of the continent, when the trawl lifted from a depth of about 5400 meters more than 750 fossilized teeth of sharks from different historical periods, different species and sizes.

Scientists recognized in the find and teeth of megalodon, which lived on Earth 3.5 million years ago, and its closest relative, as well as the remains of modern species of sharks such as white and mako.

In addition, the researchers managed to catch a small striped horned shark, an unknown species, endemic of Australia.

It is noted that they live in the water column at a depth of about 150 meters, their lifestyle and behavior are poorly studied.
