From January 1, 2022 foreigners can be expelled from Russia for illegal labor activity

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reminds about the entry into force of new changes from January 1, 2022. In particular, they will affect illegal migrants.

“For illegal employment from January 1, 2022, foreign migrants will be expelled from Russia and a ban on return entry will be imposed. Employers who illegally attract labor migrants to work will be fined up to 800 thousand rubles for each working foreigner, ”the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

December 31, 2021 in Russia, the term of temporary measures introduced by the president is coming to an end, allowing migrants to regulate their legal status. The migrants were advised to apply to the internal affairs bodies by December 31st.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine have the right to apply for a patent without taking into account the requirements for the deadline for submission of documents, as well as the declared purpose of entry into Russia. Citizens of the EAEU member states can enter into labor or civil law contracts, regardless of the purpose of entering Russia.

Employers who have accepted migrants for work can notify the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs about cooperation with foreigners within three days. Those who do not have permission to hire foreign employees can apply for work permits for migrants, regardless of their purpose of coming to Russia.
