Russian scientists predict an increase in the frequency of natural anomalies in the coming years. Special changes are expected in the country’s Arctic regions.
The Executive Director of the Scientific and Technical Environmental Monitoring Center of MFTI, Alexander Rodin, said that natural disasters in Russia are bound to increase. On the TV channel "Russia 1", the expert stressed that this trend will continue for at least several decades, with the most noticeable changes taking place in the Arctic regions of the country.
According to Homeland, the current climate changes are manifested not only in rising temperatures, but also in changing nature of natural phenomena. The scientific director of Hydrometer Center Roman Wilfand confirms these predictions, noting that September in the middle of Russia may actually be the fourth summer month. Over the past 30 years, global temperatures have already risen by 3 degrees, significantly changing traditional weather patterns.
Climatologists are continuing their research, trying to predict the scale of future changes. Accelerated warming in the Arctic could have serious consequences for the entire ecosystem of the region. Scientists insist on the need to develop adaptation strategies for different economic and social sectors.
