Turkey recorded 50 fatal cases of Russian tourists in the first half of 2022, the Russian ambassador Alexei Yerkhov said. According to him, the first place was taken by exacerbation of chronic diseases.

Yerkhov noted that it is mostly about cardiovascular diseases. Drowning, traffic accidents and other accidents ranked second.

According to the diplomat, only for the last two months there were 10 serious traffic accidents, in which about 50 Russians were injured. Yerkhov noted that in the last month a seemingly forgotten tendency has been added - an increase in coronavirus incidence among Russian tourists. According to him, in the southern provinces already 20 people have been identified as sick.
