In Germany, customs officials have searched the offices of several car dealers suspected of supplying dozens of luxury cars to Russia to circumvent sanctions. Moreover, according to representatives of the agency, in this case we are talking about "millions of euros". This is reported by the Prosecutor's office of Kaiserslautern. During the searches, which took place on June 26 in the city of Germersheim, investigators checked seven offices and private properties.

According to the German prosecutor's office, it is suspected that car dealers, in circumvention of the embargo imposed by the European Union, exported from Germany and delivered to Russia mainly expensive cars, and in significant quantities. The prosecutor's office is allegedly aware of approximately 190 cases of such deliveries. It is not specified whether these were batches of several cars or units of exported cars. The exact value of the vehicles is also not specified.

There are allegations that suppliers "knowingly and contrary to the true state of affairs" informed customs officials that the cars were intended for delivery to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus or Turkey, but as a result they ended up in Russia. How investigators were able to identify the fact of supplying cars to Russia, the report does not disclose.

The EU Council approved the 14th package of sanctions against Russia, which is designed to strengthen existing measures and eliminate possible ways to circumvent them.
