The Holiday Inn hotel chain has announced the end of its operations in Russia.
The British company IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), which owns the chain of hotels Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and HUALUXE, announced the termination of its activities in Russia. A statement to this effect appeared on Monday on the Web site of the company.
It said the company has now launched a process to halt all activities in Russia due to international sanctions imposed by the UK, the US and EU countries. It is specified that the decision was also taken due to the ongoing and intensifying problems of doing business in Russia.
