The Garden Lodge mansion in London's Kesington district, which belonged to Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury, may be sold for £30 million ($38 million).

According to The Daily Telegraph, information about the metre and layout of the house, which was built in 1907, is not publicly disclosed "for privacy reasons". For the same reason, the announcement of the sale of the singer's house was not placed on the Web, but the estate agency Knight Frank is ready to negotiate with potential buyers in private.

The solvency of the buyers will be checked to screen out fans of the band who are keen to visit the inside of the house. At the moment, two shots of the dining room and hallway have been published.

Mercury's home, which he bought in 1980, was furnished by the singer until his death in 1991. It was inherited by Mary Austin, the woman whom the Queen singer called the love of his life and his common-law wife.

At the end of 2023, 72-year-old Austin put up for auction a collection of 1.5 thousand personal belongings of Mercury, and now decided to sell the house. She has lived in it for more than 30 years with her two children by artist and businessman Piers Cameron.

Austin has stated that "it's time" to part with the musician's legacy.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, she emphasised that "you can't hold on to the past forever".
