On Monday, the press reported that students of Moscow universities complained about being forced to undergo flu vaccination. In case of refusal, students were promised to be transferred to distance learning. This applied more to students living in dormitories.
Rospotrebnadzor classifies teachers and students as at risk, so vaccination against influenza for them is recommended, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
Consent to a flu shot can only be voluntary, the department emphasized.
"In case of unwillingness of medical intervention, which includes vaccination, the patient has the right to refuse it," the report said. Vaccination cannot be enforced.
