The Russian government plans to consider imposing a ban on gasoline exports. Such a measure, as planned, should help prevent a shortage of fuel on the domestic market.
In addition, as reported by Reuters, citing its sources, the ban on the export of gasoline will help avoid rising prices after the decision to reduce the Ministry of Finance fuel dampener for refineries.
Agency interlocutors also noted that the government may take another measure: to increase the minimum volume for the mandatory sale of gasoline on the commodity exchange.
As a reminder, in April this year, the Ministry of Finance initiated a halving of the fuel dampener. Combined with the seasonal increase in demand due to repairs at refineries, this resulted in the cost of gasoline reaching its highest levels since the beginning of the ETS.
