In an interview with the RIAMO agency, Vladimir Neronov, an infectious disease doctor from the clinic of Academician Roitberg, described in detail the places on the human body that attract ticks most of all. According to the specialist, these parasites prefer soft and tender areas of the skin for sucking.

Neronov explained that mites seek out areas with thin skin, such as the armpits, the area under the breast, around large joints - knees and elbows, as well as the groin area, anal fold and neck. They pay special attention to the area near the ear lobe.

The doctor emphasized that the process of sucking the tick unfolds gradually. The female tick uses her chelicerae to penetrate the capillary space and get the blood needed to feed and reproduce. This process can take two to seven days, during which time the tick remains on the host's body, obtaining the necessary amount of blood to complete its life cycle.
