Russia may introduce a new social measure - payments for married couples celebrating a long marriage.
Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, told RT.
The bill aimed at establishing such payments has already been submitted to the State Duma. The deputy emphasized that the development of the law is based on the analysis of law enforcement practice, primarily at the regional level.
According to Nilov, currently some regions pay social benefits to families celebrating a long period of joint life in the amount of 50-100 thousand rubles. The head of the Committee emphasized that this initiative is aimed at eliminating discrimination of citizens depending on where they live.
The deputy explained that such a step would allow to provide equal opportunities for all married couples in the country. He also emphasized that this measure will be a kind of attention and support from the state, contributing to the creation of a festive mood and holding appropriate events.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers announced plans to introduce electronic passports for entry into hotels as early as April, and the number of early bookings in hotels for summer in Russia has increased fivefold.
