Over the past day, 24,581 new cases of infection with a new type of coronavirus have been identified in Russia.
The number of people infected with coronavirus in Russia increased to 2,089,329, the daily increase was - 24,581, which was the maximum since the beginning of the pandemic.
The previous anti-record was established on November 19 - then 23,610 cases were recorded.
According to the incident room, the number of new infections exceeds 24 thousand for three days in the country.
The smallest daily increases are recorded in Dagestan, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Mari El.
Meanwhile, Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow region are in the leading position on new cases of coronavirus.
Thus, 6,575 new cases were identified in the capital per day, 2,668 - recorded in St. Petersburg, 949 - in the Moscow region.
The number of recovered Russians increased by 18,008 per day and amounted to 1,595,443 people.
Mortality statistics for COVID-19 in Russia were replenished with 401 new cases. In total, 36,179 patients died from the virus.
