Mediapart platform writes, an independent investigation at a plant in France, showed that the company filtered water contaminated with fecal matter, Escherichia coli bacteria and pesticides.
Consumers are demanding that Nestle be held accountable.
As follows from the EU regulations for the production of bottled natural mineral water, this water must come from uncontaminated underground sources and must be clean from the start. Only tap water is allowed to be filtered.
In April, Nestle in France destroyed two million bottles of Perrier water because of bacteria found in the source. And last spring, the company itself admitted that a third of its products did not meet healthy eating standards.
