The Russian Ministry of Agriculture is not considering the possibility of adding Coca-Cola-branded drinks to the list of goods that are subject to parallel imports.
"At present, the site of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia does not consider the possibility of adding Coca-Cola Company branded drinks to the list of goods for parallel imports," the ministry noted.
According to the information of the authority the current production capacity of soft drinks in the Russian Federation allows to fully meet the demand within the country. At the same time Russian producers supply the market with a wide range of products, including soft drinks, juices and other products, as the Ministry stressed.
Earlier at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, business rights ombudsman Boris Titov said that Coca-Cola brand drinks can be brought into Russia through the mechanism of parallel imports. In addition, the American company will stop producing or selling its branded products in the Russian Federation after the reduction of its capacity.
