The Russian Ministry of Transport, together with regional authorities, the Interior Ministry and business representatives, has finally approved new federal rules for installing traffic cameras that will come into force on September 1, Kommersant reports, citing information from Evgeny Litvinov, co-chairman of the Road Safety working group.

These new rules have been amended to take into account criticism and suggestions from various stakeholders. For example, the provisions on the need for all cameras to comply with GOST, as well as the role of dynamic road signage, which caused discussions, were excluded from the draft. However, the new document includes a provision requiring the labeling of cars with mobile complexes for fixing violations in such a way that they are visible to traffic participants in advance.

According to Litvinov, the document will be sent to the government subcommittee on the reform of control and oversight activities of the government apparatus, and then to the prime minister for signing after final approval.

In Russia the number of traffic cameras is constantly increasing and already counts more than 30 thousand.

Earlier, parallel imports of cars in Russia decreased by 5%, and also on Wildberries you can now buy autos.
