Russian hacker Stroganov wanted in the US

U.S. law enforcement officials are searching for Russian hacker Alexei Stroganov, whom the U.S. accuses of cybercrime.

The United States Secret Service has put Alexei Stroganov, a Russian hacker, on the wanted list. He is accused of cybercrime in America.

Stroganov, also known as flint and flint24, was charged with similar offences in the Russian Federation. In June 2023, the criminal case against Stroganov and 25 other defendants went to the 235th garrison military court in Moscow.

In the States, Stroganov is accused, among other things, of participating in a criminal conspiracy to hack into computer networks of citizens and companies, as well as theft of bank card data. The Russian hacker was involved from May 2008 to July 2017.

The prosecution believes that during the scheme, in which Stroganov allegedly took part, the losses of financial institutions amounted to more than $35 million.

The Russian was also charged with bank fraud. In the States, he faces up to 30 years in prison and a million dollar fine.

In Russia, the hacker is accused of unlawful circulation of means of payment and participation in organised crime groups.
