Environmentalist Kobyakov: Red-listed plants can be cut down only by agreement with the authorities

The expert said that although the property on the plot belongs to the owner, there are exceptions. It is possible to cut down even a red-listed interfering tree, but the cutting must be coordinated with the local authorities.

Konstantin Kobyakov, an ecologist and member of the public council at the Federal Forestry Agency, said that although a dacha owner can dispose of all the property on his private plot, this does not apply to red-listed trees and shrubs. And it is categorically forbidden to destroy even on private property.

In a conversation with aif.ru, he noted that such plots often border forest belts. For damage to even one tree can pay a fine of 4000 rubles. Before you start cutting, you need to find out what land it grows on by contacting the forestry or municipality. It is possible to approve the cutting if the tree, for example, threatens the buildings on the plot.

Dacha dwellers from the Novosibirsk region have organized a conflict over the felling of a pine tree.

The Union of Gardeners reminded the dacha owners that it is prohibited to grow certain types of plants on their plots.
