President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has previously been ill with COVID-19. The head of state announced that he had contracted the coronavirus again.
"The Omicron strain is a completely different virus, it gradually descends to the ordinary flu. I say this because I myself have had the Omicron strain," said Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with the head of the Republic of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalyg.
The Belarusian president noted that the Omicron strain does not give pneumonia. "I carried this virus on my feet. I noticed I was sick when they did the test," added Alexander Lukashenko.
In October 2021, Alexander Lukashenko denied information about his secret vaccination against the coronavirus. The rumors spread after the president of Belarus started visiting clinics, in particular the hospital in Hrodna region, as well as the "red" zones of medical institutions.
