The government says that poverty in Russia will fall faster over the next three years

The government has improved its forecast concerning the rate of poverty reduction in Russia. The relevant data are contained in the Unified Plan for Achieving the National Development Goals of Russia until 2024.

As "Izvestia" wrote with reference to the document, the number of poor people this year, as well as in the next three years will decline at a faster rate than previously predicted.

The Cabinet suggests that this year the percentage of people whose incomes are below the subsistence minimum will fall to 11.4%. This data correlates with the forecast of the World Bank.

And the next year the poverty rate of Russians should fall to 10.8% (previously it was said about 11.5%), in 2023 - to 10.1% (previously 10.9%), and in 2024 - to 9.6% (previously 10.4%).
