The State Duma has prepared a bill to ban advertising the services of astrologers, fortune-tellers and magicians in the media and on the Internet.
If the bill is passed, the advertiser will face a fine: for officials - from four to twenty thousand rubles, for legal entities - from 100 thousand to half a million rubles.
Deputy Alexander Spiridonov, who proposed the bill, noted in a conversation with Life.ru that such activity contradicts the presidential decree on the preservation of spiritual and moral values and is fraudulent, and also negatively affects people's health.
At the end of last year, the commission at the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences adopted a memorandum, which called the activities of astrologers pseudoscientific.
Spiridonov noted that now uncontrolled advertising of occult and mystical services is increasingly taking over the advertising space.
