German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the country has overcome its dependence on Russian energy resources. He said this during his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, reports TASS.
He said that within a few months Germany managed to become fully independent from Russian oil, gas and coal. According to the Chancellor, new agreements were signed with new partners. He stressed that the country's energy security had been ensured for this winter thanks to full gas reserves and "European solidarity.
Furthermore, Olaf Scholz said that two mobile receiving terminals for liquefied natural gas had already been opened in Germany. Two more terminals to receive LNG are on the way. The combined capacity of the four LNG receiving terminals is estimated at about 33 billion cubic meters a year, with about 60 billion cubic meters of LNG delivered to Germany via Nord Stream in 2021.
