In Russia, the number of crimes related to corruption has increased by almost 30%. The materials of statistics from January to December were published by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Last year, a total of more than 18,590 such crimes were registered, which is 27.8% more than in 2020. 5,000 of these crimes are related to bribery, almost 4,500 to giving a bribe, and more than 2,000 cases are connected to intermediation.
Petty bribery accounts for 7,000 violations, reports TASS. A total of more than 35,000 corruption offenses were recorded in Russia last year.
Earlier, the FSB detained a colonel of internal service, the former deputy head of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the Tomsk region. He is suspected of taking a large bribe.
