Vakhtang Kipshidze, the deputy chairman of the Synod Department for relations of church with society and mass media, stated on the air of the "Moscow Talks" radio station that it is not planned to apply a system of QR codes when visiting churches.

He stressed that from the very beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the church stated that the entrance to temples cannot be subject to restrictions "which are associated with the assignment of any identifiers."

"Access to the church is always free, and never has a visit to the church been conditioned on the presentation of any identifying personal documents," said the representative of the ROC.

He also stressed that this will always be the rule, with all necessary preventive measures in place.
