Rospotrebnadzor recommends to refuse cash due to COVID-19

Coronavirus can remain active on bills for at least 24 hours, on coins - at least three hours, in this regard, Rospotrebnadzor recommends using cashless payments.

Rospotrebnadzor recommends paying for purchases and services in cashless form, as well as using masks and gloves, RIA News reports.

Specialists at the Vector center found out that coronavirus remains on the surface of bills for at least 24 hours, and at least three hours on the surface of coins, the department said.

Rospotrebnadzor noted that the most common way of transmitting COVID-19 is airborne transmission, but infection can also occur as a result of human contact with various objects that contain a virus on their surface.

Bills and coins can become a source of distribution of coronavirus, the supervisory authority emphasized. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is recommended to treat hands with disinfectant solutions or wash hands thoroughly with soap after each cash payment, Rospotrebnadzor added.
