As part of the evacuation of 70 Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip, one pregnant woman and 27 children were among them.
As the Russian Ministry of Health specified, among the children there are five under three years old, and the youngest child is only three months old.
The condition of the evacuees is assessed as satisfactory. All of them have been cleared to fly to Moscow, where they will be accompanied by medical personnel.
Russian citizens crossed the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt on Sunday, November 12. Due to the shortage of gasoline, some of them had to get to the checkpoint on donkey-drawn carts. The Il-76 airplane will take them to Moscow.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized that more than a thousand people had signed up for the evacuation. She explained that the evacuation process requires coordination with many authorities.
